How was a unique Japanese culture formed by bringing together diverse elements?
Our “Scenes of Japanese Culture” series introduces aspects of Japanese culture that have been passed down over many years with various influences and survive to the present day, as well as aspects that we would like to preserve for the future, by following the course of Japanese cultural history. This first book in the series focuses on the changes that occurred in Japanese culture from prehistoric times to the eighth century, offering insight into the minds of our ancient predecessors.
